In this short (8 minute) audio reflection that I recorded while reading the February Book of the Month (Digital Dharma, Deepak Chopra), I comment on the fact that the desire some have to “program curiosity and wonder and compassion” into AI systems seems to herald a pathway for developing AI in such a way that it might make “more human” decisions than humanity, in aggregate, has seemed to so far.
From one perspective, that sounds instantly like a good thing — we know what the errors were, so why wouldn’t we “program” better choices into AI.
